After 13 years underground, these cicadas want to spread their wings

It’s been 13 years since we last heard from the great Southern brood. Now it is back, ready to raise a racket and mate. The brood is a species of cicadas that periodically tunnels up all at once from tree roots, where they have been maturing, to spend their short-lived adulthoods reproducing.

Clemson University will host the National Rifle Association’s 2011 Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championship April 7-10 on the campus of The Citadel in Charleston. Clemson’s air rifle club team is the defending national champion, after winning last year’s tournament at Purdue University.

The undergraduate business program at Clemson University is ranked 29th among public schools in the country according to Bloomberg Businessweek magazine’s 2011 ranking of “The Best Undergraduate Business Schools.”
